This fabric flower making book with patterns and instructions is perfect for wedding accessory makers.
This large flower making book is devoted to the wedding theme.
The book is a great source of inspiration for a wedding accessory designer. A wide variety of different wedding accessories is shown in the book, namely wedding bouquets (and how to assemble them using silk flowers), hats (not blocked), hair vines, buttonholes, corsages, umbrellas etc.
A number of flowers that are used in the designs are covered in the book. They include several roses, a number of orchids, daisies, lily-of-the-valley, lilac, sweet peas, freesias, pansies, gardenia, some greenery and small filler flowers.
While some designs seem a bit outdated for a modern designer, they are perfect for a vintage one (the book dates back to 1980s). Furthermore, the book shows numerous ways with different silk flowers when creating wedding accessories.
All the pictures are in colour. A full sized pattern is provided for the flowers presented in the book. All the flowers are created using a set of heated millinery tools for shaping petals and leaves. The process of making is explained through photos and diagrams.
Although being able to read and understand Japanese can be very useful here without doubt, even if you do not know the language a lot can be understood, adapted and used when creating your own wedding flower pieces.
