NEW SILK PEONY
(the oversized stylised catwalk style)
This demonstration is suitable for students of any level, however previous experience in flower making is really helpful.
A number of flower shaping tools is going to be used to achieve the necessary 3D shaping on the flower parts.
At the end of the talk Svetlana will answer your burning questions, if there are any left.
Materials:
❀ different types of light and medium fabrics*** for the petals
❀ Lightweight backing fabric / metallic fabrics for backing
❀ Paper coated wires ( #28 or 30 for the petals, #26 for the leaves or similar, #24 for the stems)
Also: brooch pins or other findings to finish your flowers
❀ combination tool (available here) or SIMILAR
❀ a rectangle of ight cotton or silk for cold shaping
❀ medium shaping pad (or soft if you find it works better for you)
❀ Templates
❀ Wire cutters
❀ Sharp medium sized scissors
❀ Thick tacky PVA glue (aka hard) and a wooden stick to apply it
❀ More liquid PVA glue (aka soft) for gluing 2 layers of fabrics together when backing calyxes and leaves
