Fabric Poppy Demonstration: Comprehensive Poppy Guide – from Simple to Complex
This month we are taking a deeper look into the poppy family and its varied members.
The idea of the demonstration is to put all our knowledge into a comprehensive system, to learn how to make different centres and petals for poppy flowers, to understand shaping styles with and without tools etc etc.
Of course there couldn’t be a demonstration on poppies without a new poppy variety.
During the demo you will learn how to make your own stunning Romneya aka California Tree Poppy aka Fried Egg Plant.
Boasting impressive white flowers with a distinct fluffy yellow centre, this variety can easily be made without specialist tools (just tweezers). This is yet another large flower that you can add to your flower library.
This demonstration is suitable for students of any level.
A number of flower shaping tools may be useful to achieve the necessary 3D shaping on some flower parts.
The demonstration will include the overview of different poppy flowers, their similarities and differences. You willl brush up/ learn how to make several centres from super easy to more complex ones. We will discuss the materials that can be used for making poppies, possible finishes, scale and wearability.
Finally you will see how to prepare, shaping and assembly the California Tree Poppies.
At the end of the talk Svetlana will answer your burning questions, if there are any left.
