A little overlooked until now, Carnation aka Dianthus is a classic and well known flower across the world. What’s more, Red carnation is the national flower of Spain.
August live demo on Fabric Carnation is taking place on Wednesday, 28th August 2024 at 4 pm London time.
This month, we are going to look at carnations and their relative Sweet William flowers and learn to make realistic versions of them using a variety of hand dyed fabrics.
Carnations are perfect for boutonnieres, corsages and bouquets. They come in a number of attractive colours from pastel to bright ones.
This demonstration is suitable for students of any level, however previous experience in flower making will be helpful.
A number of flower shaping tools is going to be used to achieve the necessary 3D shaping on some flower parts.
The demonstration will include making TWO styles of Carnations aka Dianthus as well as buds and leaves, so that you know how to create these flowers from scratch.
At the end of the talk Svetlana will answer your burning questions, if there are any left.
