Description
Have you heard of the Glamelia Technique used by florists? A glamelia is a composite bouquet made from the petals of many different flowers to form one oversized flower. Nowadays, any handmade flower comprised of parts of several flowers or plants is called a glamelia.
This unusual technique is the focus of our February’25 demonstration. As always we will be working with handmade petals to create our glamelias.
What flowers can be used for this technique? What shapes can a glamelia take? What materials work best for making these compound flowers? You will receive all the answers during the demonstration.
The demonstration will include the making of compound Glamelia flower, as well as some ideas on how to finish these bouquets, decorate the stem/ handle and other tips and tricks.
This demonstration is suitable for students of any level, however previous experience in flower making as well as general crafting might be helpful.
A number of flower shaping tools and other utensils is going to be used to achieve the necessary 3D shaping on the flower parts.
At the end of the talk Svetlana will answer your burning questions, if there are any left.
