Join Svetlana for a talk and practical demonstration on this contemporary version of fabric camellias.

With the templates borrowed directly from nature we will create a slightly irregular realistic looking camellia using a number of different fabrics.

In this design you will learn to make new composite leaves for this and other flower pieces.

Turn this contemporary looking camellia into an evening brooch, a hat trim or a casual corsage, as always there are lots of potential options.

At  the end of the talk Svetlana will reply to your contemporary camellia related questions, if there still are any left.

Learn a clever way to construct your petals for a 3D effect, make the pistil and the stamens of the lily flower completely from scratch for a life like realistic look of this popular flower.

Use the leather lily for a hat trim, a brooch or a buttonhole, a headpiece by itself or together with other leather flowers you already know how to make.

As the festive season is approaching it is time we made some occasion flowers: meet the fantasy Shimmer and Shine fabric orchid. 

This live online event is taking place on 12 November 2021 at 4 pm London time (11 am EST) over Zoom.

Join Svetlana for a talk and practical demonstration on the fantasy orchid and learn how to create this festive flower using metallic (and other) fabrics.

This orchid design features opulent petals that are created with special templates.

The fantasy fabric orchid can be made without the specialist flower shaping tools. We are going to cover a number of shaping methods you can use in your no tool flowers. This flower does not require dyeing, instead we will play with different fabric textures and discuss possible replacements.

In case if you have flower shaping tools I will share a couple of tricks you can use to enhance this design further by using the tools.

At  the end of the talk I will reply to your orchid related questions, if there still are any left.

Join Svetlana for a talk and practical demonstration on the bright charming wild velvet poppies and learn how to create these beauties using luxurious velvet and metallic fabrics.

Featuring only 4 petals the wild velvet poppy is an attractive bright flower that has always been popular and can be successfully used as a brooch, hat trim and other wearable accessories. 

We are going to talk about 2 types of poppy centres, stylised and more realistic ones so you can choose which one to use in your poppies. Also several options for the leaves will be offered.

This version of a fabric poppy does require millinery tools for shaping the petals and the leaves.

During the event you will familiarise with a number of options when it comes to making leather chrysanthemums using a number of methods for your projects. We are going to be concentrating on creating a NO TOOL leather chrysanthemum that you can make in time for autumn.

This talk is not about how to make a tooled chrysanthemum from scratch. If you have got tools and would like to learn how to make a tooled chrysanthemum as well you are welcome to explore our detailed Leather Chrysanthemum tutorial.
