A star of the autumnal garden, beatiful dahlia deserves our full attention at this time of the year. We have previously made a formal medium sized dahlia in leather (find the full photo tutorial here).
This year the time has come to explore more informal oversized aka dinnerplate varieties that are all the rage at the moment. These large blooms of 18-20+ cm across are perfect for fascinators, headpieces, hat trims and lavish bridal bouquets.
This demonstration is suitable for students of any level, however previous experience in flower making is really helpful.
A number of flower shaping tools is going to be used to achieve the necessary 3D shaping on some flower parts (single knife, hook etc).
The demonstration will include the making of an oversized informal deocrative aka dinnerplate dahlia flower comlete with foliage.
At the end of the talk Svetlana will answer your burning questions, if there are any left.
