Would like to master working with lace? This detailed lace flower tutorial in video format has been designed for you!
If you ask what fabric can enhance femininity I’ll say lace. Lace can be very versatile and different too. Black lace will add a bit of mystery and drama whilst white lace is all about romance and innocence. With the wedding season almost upon us we have decided to share the knowledge on how to work with lace and use it in flower making by creating a romantic hair circlet with delicate lace orchids and freshwater pearls.
We do not like the idea of showing how to create flowers alone. It is much nicer to make a wearable piece with fabric flowers. But it does not mean that we discourage you from experimenting. A hair circlet is just one option. The lace orchid flowers can be arranged into a bracelet, a necklace, attached to a headband or made into a corsage. Besides, the knowledge you get with this tutorial on how to work with lace allows you to create many other different flowers from lace.
More than 50 minutes of video instructions from the practising flower artist for you to watch, study and practise.
Watch the video through the artist’s eyes, follow the instructions and create, create, create!

An excellent video tutorial on making a lace orchid. As a comparative newcomer to making flowers, I found learning by video suited me well. I could back track and look at how to do a particular step as often as I wanted. Very clear instructions and I love how all the “tools” required are listed so that you can gather them up before hand. For beginners this is important as we often don’t have everything.
I combined this tutorial with buying the kit of materials so I knew I would have the right types of fabric. Having made one, I now feel brave enough to chose my own fabrics next time. And watching Svetlana gave me more confidence in using millinery irons.
Great tutorial on using lace and satin to make an orchid. Thoroughly recommended and well within the grasp of any beginner if they take their time and work carefully.
